DePaul's Drake Diener Named to I-AAA Scholar-Athlete Team

Drake Diener was named to the second annual Division I-AAA Athletics Directors Association Scholar-Athlete Team it was announced by the Division I-AAA Athletics Directors Association (DI-AAA ADA).
In the classroom, Diener, a junior guard from Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, carries a 3.37 grade point average in Secondary Education. On the court, Diener led Conference USA in three-point field goal percentage (.459) while hitting 68 treys, the third-best single-season total in school history. He was twice named the C-USA Player of the Week and was the CBS/Chevrolet Player of the Game in both of DePaul’s NCAA Tournament contests.
Basketball players from all Division I-AAA ADA member institutions are eligible for this prestigious award. Each of the nominees was required to have a grade point average of 3.20 (on a 4.0 scale) in undergraduate study and have been a starter or important reserve with legitimate athletic credentials. He must have reached sophomore athletics and academic standing at the nominated insitution and have completed a minimum of one full academic year at the nominated institution.
This is the second consecutive year that Diener has earned this award. He was also a CoSIDA/Academic All-Distict selection this season.
