NFL Europe Opening Day Rosters Feature 19 Former C-USA Players

CHICAGO – A total of 19 players from Conference USA schools appeared on the opening day rosters of NFL Europe teams when the league began its 10th season this past weekend. Eight of C-USA’s 10 schools that will play in the league this fall are represented, with at least two players appearing on each of the six NFL Europe teams.

Louisville had the most players on NFL Europe rosters with six former players appearing. East Carolina and Houston each placed three former standouts. Additionally, future C-USA member South Florida, which begins play in Conference USA in 2003, placed a pair of players in the NFL developmental league.

The Frankfort Galaxy have the most Conference USA players with five, while the Barcelona Dragons have four. The defending champion Berlin Thunder feature two former C-USA standouts. For more information on NFL Europe, visit: www.nfleurope.com.
