USF Finalizes 2003 Football Schedule
The University of South Florida football team has finalized its 2003 football schedule with an October 18 date at home against Charleston Southern. After late cancellations by Baylor and Eastern Michigan, USF was forced to find two additional games to get to an 11-game schedule in 2003.
“We’re excited about our overall schedule in 2003,” says USF Director of Athletics Lee Roy Selmon. “When we had the cancellations by Baylor and Eastern Michigan, we worked diligently to replace them with I-A teams but we were unable to get that done. At the same time, we feel the 2003 schedule is still the toughest and the most exciting we have faced in our seven seasons, and we’re especially excited to play our first season in Conference USA.”
USF enters its seventh season of football in 2003 and its first as a member of Conference USA. The Bulls finished 9-2 in 2002 and ranked among the top 30 in each of the computer polls utilized by the BCS, including 14th in the New York Times Computer Poll.
