DeAngelo Williams of Memphis Named to Blue Ribbon All-America Team

Memphis running back DeAngelo Williams has been named a first team All-American by Blue Ribbon Yearbook, the publication announced. He is joined in the backfield by Oklahoma running back Adrian Peterson and USC Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Matt Leinart.
Wiliams, who led the nation in rushing touchdowns with 22. He totaled 1,948 rushing yards in 2004 and is being touted as a Heisman Trophy candidate for 2005. Williams will travel to Nashville, Tenn., on Thursday, June 9 and will be presented the Player of the Year award by the Tennessee Sports Writers Association.
