After leading No. 17 Houston to a league win at Tulane, Cougar junior QB Case Keenum has been named the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season. The Defensive Player of the Week honor went to Tulsa sophomore DB DeAundre Brown, who had a career-best 18 tackles against No. 5 Boise State. The special teams accolade was given to East Carolina junior WR/KR Dwayne Harris, who led the Pirates in all-purpose yardage for the fifth time this season, including a kickoff that he returned for a touchdown.

Keenum passed for over 300 yards for the 19th time in his career, leading then-No. 23 Houston to a 44-16 win at Tulane. Keenum completed 33-of-46 passes for 371 yards and two touchdowns without an interception. After holding a 9-6 halftime lead, Keenum led Houston to 35 second-half points to give the 5-1 Cougars their best start since opening 5-1 in 2003. Keenum, who was also named C-USA Offensive Player of the Week three times in 2008, is one away from tying the league record for most Offensive Player of the Week awards in a career (7), set by Tulane's Shaun King (1995-98) and matched by DeAngelo Williams of Memphis (2002-05).

Brown had a career-high 18 tackles in a 28-21 loss against No. 5 Boise State on Oct. 14. He tallied 9 solo stops and 9 assisted tackles. Brown also had a fumble recovery that led to Tulsa's first touchdown. This is the first Defensive Player of the Week honor for the top tackler on a Golden Hurricane squad that leads C-USA in total defense and scoring defense.

For the second time in as many games, Harris returned a kickoff for a touchdown to spark East Carolina's special teams play. After bringing one back 77 yards vs. SMU Oct. 10, he returned a Rice kickoff 92 yards for a score Saturday. The return ranked as the 10th longest in ECU history and was the longest since Chris Johnson had a pair of 96-yarders in 2006 and 2007. Harris' back-to-back KOR scores also tied a school single-season record for most KO scoring returns, last set in 1983 by Henry Williams. He accounted for a career-high 264 all-purpose yards and a career-best three total touchdowns (two scoring receptions).
