A pair of Conference USA schools have accepted bowl invitations on Wednesday. Rice, winners of six straight games, has accepted a bid to play in the Texas Bowl at Reliant Stadium on Tuesday, December 30. Southern Miss, winners of four in a row to close out the regular season, will play in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl on Sunday, December 21.

Rice will be making its second bowl appearance in three years, only the second time in school history that has occurred. Southern Miss, which is bowl-eligible for the 15th consecutive winning season, will be going bowling for the 11th time in the last 12 years.
