Tulsa Preparations Continue for GMAC Bowl
Dec. 29, 2007
Tulsa, Oklahoma - After taking five days off for Christmas, the Tulsa Golden Hurricane football team has been back on the practice field since Thursday afternoon. Hurricane Head Coach Todd Graham says his team is focused on the task at hand in facing an 8-4 Bowling Green team. "We think we've had a really good month of preparation of how we went about it. We spent a lot of time with our young kids before Christmas, almost like a second spring training. We gave them five days off and returned Wednesday night," said Graham. "We've really focused on Bowling Green since returning from Christmas. Our preparations have gone very, very well. We've had great practices," added Graham. "This team has been to bowl games and won, and we've been to bowl games and lost. They understand that there is nothing fun about going to a bowl game and losing, so they're focused on winning." The Hurricane will practice one last time at H.A. Chapman Stadium on Sunday before heading to Mobile, Alabama, on Monday morning, December 31. Tulsa will leave campus for Tulsa International Airport at approximately 10:40 am on Monday. The Hurricane team will arrive in Mobile at 1:45 pm. The 9-4 Golden Hurricane looks to become only the sixth team in school history to win 10 games in a single season. Other 10 wins seasons for Tulsa came in 1916, 1920, 1942, 1982 and 1991. The Ninth Annual GMAC Bowl kicks off on Sunday night, January 6th, at 7:00 pm (CT), and will be carried live on ESPN TV as well as on the Tulsa radio flagship, KRMG 740 AM.
