BOWL NOTES
Following a one-year absence, Conference USA will return to the Bell Helicopters Armed Forces Bowl…The C-USA representative will face an opponent from the Mountain West Conference in this year's game...Conference USA was a part of the first four Armed Forces Bowls (known as the Fort Worth Bowl during its first three years)...Tulsa appeared in the game two years ago, losing to Utah...Houston represented C-USA in the 2005 game, falling to Big 12 foe Kansas...The 2004 game featured a matchup of current and future C-USA members as Cincinnati posted a 32-14 win over Marshall in what proved to be the final game for Thundering Herd head coach Bob Pruett, who retired several weeks after the game...The inaugural game in 2003 featured a battle of Top 20 Teams when No. 19 TCU battled No. 16 Boise State. The Broncos won the game, 34-31, in one of the highest scoring games of the 2003-2004 bowl season.
