IRVING, Texas - Marshall's Christian Brand is this week's Conference USA Men's Golfer of the Week after setting a new 54-hole career-best with a 205 at the Xavier Invitational. His third-place finish at the event tied his career high.

Brand, the reigning C-USA Freshman of the Year, set a new 54-hole career-best with his score of 205 (69-67-69) at the Xavier Invitational. His third-place finish at the event tied his career-high finish of third place, set in his collegiate debut, at the Mid-Pines Intercollegiate in September of 2006. He was one of only three golfers in the 20-team, 104-golfer field to record all three rounds in the 60s at the par-72, 6,921-yard course. His second-round 67 was one stroke shy of tying his career-best round of 66, set last season. The sophomore totaled 15 birdies over the course of the tournament, tied for fourth most in the field. The award is the second of Brand's career.
