IRVING, Texas- UTEP’s Roger Sloan and reigning Conference USA’s Women’s Golfer of the Year Abby Bools of East Carolina have been named C-USA Golfers of the Week, respectively. Sloan was the Miners’ top performer at the Sycuan Collegiate Invitational finishing with a five-under-par 211 (70, 72, 69), good for an 11th-place tie. Bools finished tied for third at the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate, topping all C-USA competitors. The junior fired a three-day score of 220 (73-69-78) and took home all-tournament honors.

MEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK
ROGER SLOAN – UTEP

Sloan tied for 11th place at the Sycuan Collegiate Invitational in San Diego, Calif., after firing a five-under-par 211 (70, 72, 69). Sloan has been the Miners’ top finisher in three of their four tournaments this season. This is Sloan’s second career weekly honor.

WOMEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK
ABBY BOOLS, EAST CAROLINA

Bools, the reigning C-USA Women’s Golfer of the Year, finished tied for third at the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate in Greenville, N.C., topping all C-USA competitors. The junior golfer fired a three-day score of 220 (73-69-78) and captured her second top-three finish of the season and 13th career Top 10 placement. She also garnered all-tournament team honors. The weekly award is the fourth of Bools’ career and her first in 2008.
