SLU's Davis Named Freshman All-American

ST. LOUIS - Soccer America has named Saint Louis University midfielder Brad Davis to its Freshman All-America team. Davis is the Billikens' second-consecutive freshman All-America following in the footsteps of defender Jason Cole, who was selected to the 1999 team.

"With Brad's extensive international experience as captain of the U.S. Under-20 national team, he brought a level of maturity to our team that most freshmen don't have," Billikens head coach Bob Warming said. "He was a tremendous teammate on a young team, because he helped make everyone better and was all about winning matches."

Davis exploded onto the Billiken soccer scene with 28 points (11G, 6A), which fell one point of former Billiken Brian McBride's Saint Louis freshman record of 29. He was second on the club in total points and goals scored, tied for the club lead in assists and led the Bills in shots with 55.

A National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-Midwest Region selection, Davis was named C-USA Freshman of the Year, first-team All-Conference and selected as Most Valuable Midfielder in the C-USA tournament. He is presently training with the U.S. Under-20 National Team.
