Saint Louis' Ibisevic Joins Bosnian Under-21 Squad

Saint Louis Billikens freshman forward Vedad Ibisevic will join the Bosnia Under-21 Youth National Soccer Team on Friday, Feb. 6. A 2003 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) first-team All-America for the Billikens, Ibisevic will represent Bosnia in a friendly against Macedonia on Tuesday, Feb. 17, in Macedonia.
“This is a great opportunity for Vedad, and he’s excited about it,” Billikens head coach Dan Donigan said. “It’s a great cultural and soccer
experience to go home and represent his country. It’s a chance to improve his skills at a higher level and add even more international experience to his resume.”
Ibisevic will join the full Bosnian National Team in Sarajevo upon his arrival. He will return to the United States on Feb. 20.
Soccer Times’ national Freshman of the Year, Conference USA’s Freshman of the Year and a C-USA first-team All-Conference selection, Ibisevic
tied for fourth nationally in NCAA Division I scoring with 40 points (18G, 4A). He shattered Brian McBride’s SLU freshman scoring records set
in 1990 of 29 points and 12 goals.
