Kelly Findley Named Men's Soccer Assistant Coach
CHARLOTTE, NC -- Kelly Findley has been hired as the new assistant
men's soccer coach at Charlotte. Findley comes to Charlotte after serving as
head coach at Mars Hill College (Mars Hill, North Carolina) for the past two
seasons.
"We are very excited about having Kelly join our program," Charlotte
coach John Tart said. "He is very well respected in the area as a coach and
a player. He will be a great asset to our program."
He compiled a record of 17-22 in his two seasons at Mars Hill
College. This past season, his team compiled a 10-8 overall record and a
South Atlantic Conference second place finish with a 5-2 record.
Findley came to Mars Hill from Miami (Ohio) University where he was
an assistant coach for the 1998 season. Prior to joining the Miami coaching
staff, he had served two seasons as an assistant with the Charlotte Eagles
professional team. His other coaching experience was one season in 1992 as
an assistant coach at his alma mater Judson College. He also worked with the
U.S. regional soccer club from 1994-98 and he served as director of the
Charlotte Eagles Soccer Camp from 1993-98.
He enjoyed a successful playing career at Judson College in Elgin,
Illinois. He was a first team NAIA All-American in 1991 as a senior. He was
a two-time National Christian College first team All-American. As a junior,
he was named second team NAIA All-American. He played for the Charlotte
Eagles from 1993-98.
