The University of Memphis men's soccer team will hold its annual silent auction at the Murphy Athletic Complex on South Campus on Thursday, March 30, 2006 from 7-9 p.m. The auction will begin with a dinner a 7 p.m. Following the dinner, former MLS player Ross Paulie will speak to the group at 8 p.m. The auction and dinner is $15 for individuals or $500 for a sponsored table of 10. Peter Edmiston, WHBQ 560 AM sports radio personality and host of the weekly "Soccer Fix," will emcee the event. "This is a great way for us to have a nice night and expose the program in a positive way," said Memphis head coach Richie Grant. "The money raised from this event will help the program accomplish things we normally wouldn't be able to do." In the past, funds from the auction have been used to improve the men's soccer locker room facilities and to help allow the team to play MLS teams in the spring. Last year the money was used to help fund the team's trip to Europe, touring Holland and Belgium. Reservations are encouraged and can be made by mailing in the PDF form or by calling (901) 678-4630. Seats can also be purchased at the event.
