Tulsa, Oklahoma - A total of four former men's soccer players from The University of Tulsa appeared on the opening day rosters of Major League Soccer teams as the Eastern and Western leagues began play last weekend. The four former Golden Hurricane standouts include Kyle Brown (2001-05), Ryan Pore (2002-04), Lawson Vaughn (2004-05) and Daniel Wasson (2004-05).

Vaughn, who was selected by Chivas USA in the 2006 MLS Supplemental Draft, faired the best of the TU foursome. He started at defender and played a full 90 minutes in a 3-0 shutout of Real Shutout. Vaughn registered his first professional point when he was credited with an assist on teammate's Juan Pablo Garcia goal at the 25th minute during the first half.

Pore, a second round pick by Kansas City in 2005, came off the bench at the 73rd minute and played the final 17 minutes of the Wizards' 3-1 victory over the Columbus Crew. The former Golden Hurricane two-time All-American and 2004 Soccer America Player of the Year is in his second season in the MLS.

Brown, a third round draft pick in the 2006 MLS SuperDraft by New England, was the only sub used in the Revolution's 1-0 victory over defending MLS Cup Champion, Los Angeles, on their home pitch at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. Brown entered the game at the 83rd minute and played the final seven minutes in his professional debut.

Wasson, who was the 38th pick by the Rapids in the 2006 MLS Supplemental Draft, is on the roster, but did not play in Colorado's 5-2 road loss to the Houston Dynamo.
