C-USA Announces Oct. 8 Men's Soccer Players of the Week

As a result of two shutout victories last weekend, including a 3-0 win over No. 9 South Florida, the No. 8 UAB Blazers boast the Oct. 8 Conference USA Men's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week.

OFFENSIVE:
Martin Rey, UAB
Sr., F, Buenos Aires, Argentina

UAB senior forward MARTIN REY is the Conference USA Offenisve Player of the Week for the period ending Oct. 7. Rey scored the Blazers' first two goals in a 3-0 win over No. 9 South Florida and added a goal and an assist in the 2-0 win over Alabama A&M. Rey has scored six goals in the last six matches and is now tied for seventh on UAB's career goals list with 20.

DEFENSIVE:
Clint Baumstark, UAB

UAB's CLINT BAUMSTARK is the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week for the period ending Oct. 7. He shutout No. 9 South Florida, 3-0 on Oct. 5, recording four saves. He notched his sixth shutout of the year with five saves in a 2-0 triumph over Alabama A&M. USF and Alabama A&M each outshot the Blazers, as Baumstark has six shutouts in nine matches this season.
