No. 14 TULSA 3, MARSHALL 0
Austin Neil scored two goals and Jose Parada picked up his first goal of the season on Saturday night in leading the No.14 Tulsa to a 3-0 victory over Marshall at the Hurricane Soccer & Track Stadium. TU moved to 8-3-1 on the season and 4-0 in Conference USA, while the Thundering Herd fell to 0-10-1 overall and 0-3 in the league.

Neil's first goal came with just 1:39 ticked off the clock in the second half. Chris Taylor got the ball in the air to Neil who headed it in from 18 yards out. Parada's goal would come over 20 minutes later off a forward pass from Kyle Corrie at the 67:12 mark. Neil scored again with just under eight minutes remaining with Kilian Poeschk picking up the assist.

The Golden Hurricane out-shot Marshall, 22-8, including a 9-5 advantage in shots on goal. Tyrel Lacey logged all 90 minutes in goal and recorded four saves.

UCF 1, UAB 0
Sophomore Yaron Bacher picked a perfect time to score his first UCF goal as his tally in the 17th minute enabled the Knights to defeat UAB, 1-0, Saturday at the UCF Soccer Complex. Classmate Sean Johnson secured his fourth shutout of the year to help the Knights stay near the top of the Conference USA standings at 3-1-0 and 6-5-0 overall.

Johnson now has six shutouts in two seasons for the Knights, while his 2008 save total jumped to 59 in 11 matches played. After being outshot 8-6 in the opening half, UAB (4-6-2, 1-2-0) completed its evening with a 15-8 lead in shots.

Some dazzling offensive moves by freshman Chris Feigenbaum helped lead to the only goal of the match in the 17th minute. After Feigenbaum ripped off a low liner that UAB keeper Wes Johnson was able to tip wide, the Knights received a corner and took advantage.

Freshman Kyle Ellis (Bear, Del.) delivered the corner and it eventually went off a couple of bodies and over to Bacher. Seeing a wide open right side of the net, he picked his spot and placed a shot far post and into the mesh

MEMPHIS 2, FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL 1
Memphis defeated the Florida International Golden Panthers, 2-1, on Sunday in Miami, Fla. Parker Duncan scored the first two goals of his Memphis career against the Golden Panthers in just his third start as a Tiger. The win moves Memphis' record to 4-8 on the year. The Tigers are now 2-2 in conference play after two straight conference victories over No. 15 SMU and FIU. Florida International moves to 2-7-2 overall and 1-2-0 in Conference USA.

The Tigers' first goal came in the 13th minute of the game. A FIU defender lost control of the ball letting Duncan take control of it and launch it into the back of the net past Florida International goalkeeper Jesse Fullerton. The goal was Duncan's first of his career.

FIU outshot Memphis in the first half eight to four, but the Tigers held the lead 1-0 at the break.

In the second half, the U of M improved their lead to 2-0 in the 61st minute when Duncan rebounded a Ryan Ruble shot from five yards out from the goal and shot it past Fullerton for the second goal of the game of the second career goal for the freshman forward from Johnson City, Tenn. Fullerton had the save on the Ruble shot but was unable to control the ball which Duncan put past him.

Memphis retained a 2-0 lead until the 79th minute when FIU defender Phil Fisher header in a goal off of a Juan Guerra free kick. The goal was Fisher's first of his career. The assist was Guerra's third of the year.

FIU had 16 shots to Memphis' nine. Duncan had two goals on two shots. Ruble, a sophomore forward from Lee's Summitt, Mo., had two shots, as well. Guerra led the Golden Panthers in shots with six, but only one of those shots was on goal. The assist is Ruble's second of the season.

KENTUCKY 2, SOUTH CAROLINA 0
Tim Crone and Brad Walker each netted a goal and junior goalkeeper Dan Williams posted three saves in his 12th career shutout, to lead Kentucky to a 2-0 upset of South Carolina, in front of 1,399 fans at the UK Soccer Complex.

Kentucky (6-4-2, 2-1 Conference USA) bounced back with a conference win after suffering a 2-1 loss at No. 14 Tulsa, losing on an own goal, despite a goal from Crone. Crone, a junior forward, notched a goal in the second consecutive game, bringing his season total up to four, good for second on the team.

In a battle of the two top offensive teams in the conference, UK played without two of its top scorers, front-line players Michael Strong and Taylor White, who both did not dress due to injury. Despite nine of its 23 season goals on the bench, Crone and Walker picked up the slack, with Walker getting his first career goal on a corner kick from Chad Hagerty. UK held potent USC scoring threat Sam Arthur (10 goals in 11 games, 3 assists) to only two shots, with one attempt on goal.

South Carolina (6-4-2, 1-1-1 C-USA) had suffered losses only at No. 1 Wake Forrest, No. 13 North Carolina and traditional soccer power Furman before coming to Lexington Sunday. USC, which entered the game with one loss in the last six game, tied the high-octane SMU Mustangs on October 8.

Williams, a 6-foot-2, three-year starter in goal, saved three shots while facing 10 Gamecock shots. With his fifth shutout of the season, Williams totaled his 12th career shutout, tying him for fourth all-time at UK. His fifth blanking of the season ties him for ninth all-time in the UK single-season record books, a feat he accomplished during UK’s 13-win 2006 campaign.

USC keeper Jimmy Maurer, considered one of the top keepers in the conference, totaled four saves, facing nine UK shots.

No. 21 SMU 5, CENTRAL ARKANSAS 1
Sophomore midfielder Leone Cruz and Diogo de Almeida scored two goals apiece to lead the SMU men's soccer team to its highest offensive output of the season in a 5-1 victory over visiting Central Arkansas Sunday night at Westcott Field.

The Mustangs, who improved to 7-3-2 with the victory, struck first in the 19th minute. Senior Jeff Harwell fired a corner kick from the left corner, which freshman Adam Still headed back toward the net. The ball bounced off UCA goalkeeper Ernesto Pena to Cruz, who poked it in the net ... despite lying flat on his back after a collision in front of the net.

The Bears got the equalizer in the 32nd minute when Jordan Prescott knocked in a rebound, knotting the game at 1-1, a margin that would hold through the halftime intermission.

The Mustangs went ahead to stay in the 60th minute, when freshman forward Arthur Ivo blasted home a rebound of a shot by senior midfielder Gabe Arredondo for his second collegiate goal.

The Mustangs then opened the floodgates, pouring in three goals in 10 minutes. Cruz got his second goal of the game when he headed in a Harwell free kick in the 73rd minute. Then, in the 80th minute, de Almeida knocked in a rebound of a shot by senior Ryan Mirsky from point blank range. In the 83rd minute, the same pair hooked up again, with de Almeida scoring his second goal of the game - and third of the season - off a rebound of a Mirsky shot.
