SLU's Selolwane, Charlotte's Mackanos Are C-USA's Oct. 22 Men's Soccer Players of the Week

Saint Louis' Dipsy Selolwane became just the seventh player in league history to score four goals in a match, while Charlotte's Lucas Mackanos, who ranks among C-USA's top three in saves, recorded eight saves in a 1-0 win over Marquette. As a result, Selolwane and Mackanos are the Oct. 22 Conference USA Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively.

Saint Louis senior forward DIPSY SELOLWANE is the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week for the period ending Oct. 21. Selolwane became the seventh player in league history to score four goals in a match when he tallied four in a 5-1 victory over South Florida. He has scored at least once in all 10 matches, the best in Billiken history since Steve Sullivan scored in 11 straight in 1979. This is also SLU’s first four-goal match since 1966.

Charlotte’s LUCAS MACKANOS is the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week for the period ending Oct. 21. Mackanos posted his second shutout of the season when he save eight Marquette shots in a 1-0 win over the Golden Eagles on Oct. 21. He is third in the league with 5.62 saves per game.
