The SMU Mustangs are the 2006 Conference USA men's soccer champions after downing second-seeded Kentucky, 2-0, on Sunday afternoon. Chase Wileman and Adrian Chevannes scored for SMU. With the win, the Mustangs grab C-USA's automatic berth into the NCAA Championship. WEDNESDAY, NOV. 1
GAME ONE

No. 1 SMU def. No. 8 Florida International, 6-0

The No. 1 seed SMU Mustangs began the 2006 Conference USA men's soccer championship with a dominating 6-0 win over Florida International on Wednesday afternoon at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium on the campus of the University of Tulsa. C-USA men's soccer Player of the Year Bruno Guarda began the scoring for SMU with an unassisted goal in the 21st minute of the first half and the Mustangs remained in control for the rest of the contest. SMU improved to 16-1-3 (5-1-2 C-USA) with the win, while FIU ends its regular season at 6-10-2 (2-6-0).

GAME TWO
No. 5 UAB def. No. 4 South Carolina, 3-2

UAB's Jerson Monteiro scored the game winning goal with just under one minute to play to give the Blazers a 3-2 win over South Carolina in game two of the 2006 Conference USA men's soccer championship being held at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium on the campus of the University of Tulsa. Montiero's 13th goal improved UAB to 10-6-2 (4-3-1 C-USA), while South Carolina ends its regular season at 11-4-1 (4-3-1 C-USA).

GAME THREE
No. 2 Kentucky def. No. 7 Memphis, 3-1

Riley O'Neill scored the final two Kentucky goals to help the Wildcats defeat Memphis, 3-1, in game three of the 2006 Conference USA men's soccer championship at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium on the campus of the University of Tulsa. This was the fifth multi-goal game of the season for O'Neill and his 17 total goals on the season are a new UK school record.

No. 3 Tulsa def. No. 6 UCF, 5-0

The host Tulsa Golden Hurricane finished day one of the 2006 Conference USA men's soccer championship in convincing fashion with a 5-0 win over UCF. Junior Todd Goddard scored the last two goals for TU, with each score coming from at least 12 yards out at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium on the campus of the University of Tulsa.

GAME FIVE

No. 1 SMU def. No. 5 UAB, 1-1 (3-1 Shootout)

The first semifinal match-up of the 2006 Conference USA men's soccer championship in Tulsa, Okla. needed a shootout to decide the winner. After playing to a 1-1 tie through regulation and two ten minute overtimes, SMU put away UAB 3-1 in the deciding shootout. SMU Goalie Matt Wideman stopped the first two UAB shots fired his direction as his teammates put theirs into the back of the net. After another score by both teams, Wideman stopped the fourth Blazer try to seal the victory. SMU advances to play the winner of the second semifinal between No. 2 Kentucky and No. 3 Tulsa in Sunday's championship game.

Kentucky downed host Tulsa, 3-0, in the second semifinal game of the 2006 C-USA men's soccer championship Friday night at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium on the campus of the University of Tulsa. Jase Griffiths scored twice for the Wildcats, his third and fourth goals on the season.
