SLU's Will John is Hermann Trophy Semifinalist


Will John

Saint Louis sophomore forward Will John is among the 15 semifinalists for the Missouri Athletic Club's Hermann Trophy, the official National Soccer Coaches Association of America Player of the Year award for NCAA Division I competition. The 15 candidates were selected by a nominating committee of Division I college coaches.

John is the Billikens' leading scorer with 24 points (10G, 4A) and has been among Conference USA's top three scorers throughout the regular season. He is tied with junior midfielder Ryan Wileman for the team lead in game winners with four. John is a three-time winner of C-USA's Offensive Player of the Week award this season and twice been named to Soccer America's national Team of the Week.

Three finalists will be named at the 2004 Men's College Cup in December. The finalists will be invited to the MAC in St. Louis on Fri., Jan. 7, 2005, for the trophy announcement at a press conference.

Saint Louis (8-7-1 overall, 5-3-1 C-USA) travels to Louisville on Thu., Nov. 11, for a quarterfinal match in the Conference USA postseason tournament at Cardinal Field. The opponent and time are still to be determined.
