Tulsa sophomore forward Austin Neil and Kentucky senior goalkeeper Dan Williams have been named the C-USA Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, for the final week of the regular season. Neil netted two goals off just three shots as the Golden Hurricane defeated UCF, 6-2, to secure its third-straight regular season conference title. Williams posted a pair of shutouts this week as the Wildcats were delivered a berth to the 2009 C-USA Men's Soccer Championship. Williams also set a conference record as this is his seventh career C-USA Defensive Player of the Week honor. Neil and Williams also both received these awards for the week ending Oct. 18.

AUSTIN NEIL, TULSA

Neil netted two goals off of just three shots to help TU post a 6-2 win over UCF and claim the third-straight Conference USA regular season championship this week. He boasts eight goals and three assists for 19 points this season, while attempting 48 shots, including 31 on goal, for a .646 shots-on-goal percentage. This is Neil's second C-USA Offensive Player of the Week honor this season, and third of his young career.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
DAN WILLIAMS, KENTUCKY

Williams posted a pair of shutouts during the week, highlighted by a 1-0 blanking of SMU Wednesday to clinch a berth in the C-USA Championship. Williams has not allowed a goal in the last 288:43, with three-consecutive shutouts and five-straight UK wins. Williams saved four shots against SMU, facing 13 Mustang attempts. In his second shutout of the week, Williams saved five shots in a senior-day win over High Point. On the year, Williams owns a league-best 0.71 GAA, allowing 13 goals in 18 games, saving 50 shots and totaling six shutouts. In his four-year career, Williams has a 1.05 goals-against average in 72 starts and is just one shutout shy of the school-record of 22 career clean sheets. The weekly honor is the third for Williams in 2009 and is the seventh of his career, which is the most all-time for a C-USA defensive player.
