Conference USA Men's Soccer Players of the Week - Nov. 12

Sean Reti

With victories in their respective regular season finales, Marquette and Charlotte each clinched a berth in this week's Conference USA Tournament. As a result, the Golden Eagles' Sean Reti and the 49ers' Lucas Mackanos are the Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively. This is the third time that Mackanos has been honored this season. The last player to earn three weekly honors in a season was Charlotte's David Hughes in 1997.

OFFENSIVE:
Sean Reti, Marquette
Sr., MF, Brookfield, Wis.
Marquette senior midfielder SEAN RETI is the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week for the period ending Nov. 11. Reti scored two goals, including the game-winner, in a 3-1 victory over Cincinnati on Nov. 11. The Bearcats entered the match having won four of their last five contests, and the victory clinched a C-USA Tournament berth for the Golden Eagles. This marks the second time this season that Reti has been honored.

DEFENSIVE:
Lucas Mackanos, Charlotte
So., GK, Valparaiso, Ind.
Charlotte goalkeeper LUCAS MACKANOS is the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week for the period ending Nov. 11. This is Mackanos’ third honor of the season, making him the first C-USA player to receive three honors in the same season since former 49er David Hughes won the award on Sept. 15, Oct. 13 and Nov. 3, 1997. Mackanos recorded his fourth shutout of the season (10 saves). In his last five matches, Mackanos has allowed one goal.
