The first day of the 2003 Conference USA Men’s Soccer Tournament is is in the books. Friday's semifinal matches have been set. Charlotte advanced to meet top-seeded Cincinnati in the first semifinal on Friday and UAB will face second-seeded Saint Louis in the second semifinal.
Action gets underway at 6 p.m. ET (5 p.m. CT)

The 49ers, the fourth seed, defeated USF, the No. 5 seed, 2-1, in the first match of the tournament. UAB earned a berth in the semifinals by upsetting third-seeded Louisville, 2-1, in overtime.

Game One
After 79 minutes of scoreless play, Charlotte (6-9-3) scored twice within a two-minute span to defeat USF (6-9-3), 2-1, in the opening match of the 2003 Conference USA Men’s Soccer Tournament. The 49ers advances to Friday’s first semifinal match against top-seeded Cincinnati (10-3-5, 6-2-1) at 6 p.m. ET/5 p.m. CT, at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex.

Game Two
Sixth-seeded UAB (10-4-5) upset third-seeded Louisville (11-7-3), 2-1, in overtime in the first-round nightcap of the 2003 Conference USA Men’s Soccer Tournament at The Mike Rose Soccer Complex on Thursday. The Blazers move onto face second-seeded Saint Louis (12-3-2) in the second semifinal game, slated for an 8:30 p.m. ET (7:30 p.m. CT) start.
