NCAA Men's Soccer Sweet 16 Pairings Announced

David Beck

For the second time in five years, two Conference USA men's soccer teams have advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament.

No. 2 Saint Louis hosts Loyola-Md. Saturday at 7 p.m. at Hermann Stadium. The Greyhounds are 17-1-2. The winner of the Saint Louis-Loyola match will meet the winner of the Stanford-Portland quarterfinal match on the weekend of Dec. 9 for the right to advance to the Final Four.

By virtue of its overtime wins over Furman and at South Carolina last weekend, UAB travels to Clemson, S.C. to meet the ninth-ranked Tigers Sunday at 1 p.m. CST. The winner of that quarterfinal match will face the winner of the Rutgers-Indiana quarterfinal contest on the weekend of December 9, with the winner advancing to the Final Four.
