MEMPHIS, Tenn. - University of Memphis head men's soccer coach Richie Grant will hold his third Elite Soccer camp for high school athletes next month. Openings remain for interested athletes to register.

Grant (NSCAA Premier Course qualified) will host the camp January 18-20, 2008, and provide tactical and technical instructions for freshman, sophomores and juniors in high school. The camp is designed to prepare athletes for their upcoming high school and club seasons with instruction from the Memphis Soccer coaching staff.

Sessions will consist of small 8v8 games, which will build to 11v11 full field games coached by Grant and his staff, as well as intense speed and agility sessions. Goalkeeping sessions will be conducted by former Ajax staff member and Tigers' goalkeeping coach, Remco De Jong.

The camp will be held at the University's athletic center at the Park Avenue Campus (corner of Park and Getwell) and at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex. The Park Avenue facility includes an indoor turf room and conditioning, changing and training facilities. The $75 camp fee includes all instruction and a camp t-shirt.

Coach Grant will host the camp with the assistance of the University of Memphis coaching staff and other local college coaches, as well as current Tiger players for demonstration purposes.

Registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Upon acceptance, athletes will receive confirmation by mail with further details and the daily schedule.
