UC's Frazier and Vaughn Earn All-Great Lakes Region Honors

Jamal Frazier
CINCINNATI, Ohio (Dec. 12) - University of Cincinnati senior midfielder Jamal Frazier (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) and senior forward Myron Vaughn (Indianapolis, Ind./Pike) have been named third-team All-Region by the National Soccer Coaches of America (NSCAA) on Dec. 10. The honors mark the third straight year a Bearcat player has been named regional All-American.

Frazier, who started all 19 games at defender, was also named third team All-Conference USA after anchoring the Bearcat defense to six shutouts. Four of those shutouts came against regionally or nationally ranked teams.

Myron Vaughn

Vaughn led the team in scoring with ten goals and four assists on his way to being named first team All-Conference USA. He also was fifth in points and goals during the Conference USA regular season.

"We are very pleased for both players," said head coach Jeff Cook. "For Jamal it's a great reward for all the hard work he has put forth in his career. I really believe over the course of the season he was one of the best defenders in the country. Myron's award is a reflection of his capability to be an attacking threat and he scored many critical goals for us at Cincinnati. These honors are great reflections on our program and the University of Cincinnati."
