Brugues Advances at NCAA Championship

Athens, Ga. - The University of Tulsa's Arnau Brugues notched a 6-2, 6-2 win over UCLA's Chris Surapol in the first round of the 2007 NCAA Men's Tennis Singles Championship on Wednesday in Athens, Ga. Brugues moves to 29-6 on the season, and 18-6 against ranked opponents. He advances to face Daniel Mullings of Ohio State in the second round. Mullings picked up a first-round victory over Georgia Tech's David North, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4, to move on. A time for Thursday's match has not yet been released. Diego Camacho and Ross Cunningham will kick off their action in the doubles championship on Thursday when they face Markus Dickhardt and Christian Groh from San Diego State. A time for this match has also yet to be released.
