Brugues Moves on at NCAA Championship, Doubles Duo Falls

Athens, Ga. - The University of Tulsa's Arnau Brugues notched a 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 win over Ohio State's Daniel Mullings in the second round of the 2007 NCAA Men's Tennis Singles Championship on Thursday in Athens, Ga. TU's doubles team of Diego Camacho and Ross Cunningham ended their trip to the 2007 Men's Tennis Doubles Championship with a 7-6, 6-4 loss to the duo of Markus Dickhardt and Christian Groh from San Diego State in the tournament's opening round. Brugues, the No. 7 ranked player in the nation, moves to 30-6 on the season, and 19-6 against ranked opponents. He also became a two-time NCAA All-American by reaching the "Sweet Sixteen" for the second-straight year. He will now advance to face Andre Begemann of Pepperdine who advanced with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Arkansas' Blake Strode. Begemann is the No. 16 player in the country and entered the tournament as a 9-16 seed.
