IRVING, Texas - In Conference USA Men's Tennis action last weekend, Rice and Tulsa grabbed ranked wins again, while SMU nearly defeated No. 9 Notre Dame, but eventually fell, 4-3. In the latest ITA rankings, Tulsa is No. 23, followed by Rice (No. 24) and SMU (No. 44).
MEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK (2/12)
BRUNO ROSA - Rice
So., Florianopolis, Brazil (Coopereduca School) Rosa led Rice to a 3-0 week that included home victories over Lamar, Arizona and No. 24 Miami. The Brazilian anchored the top of the lineup and picked up a pair of impressive straight-set wins over No. 37 Claudio Christen (Arizona) and No. 7 Daniel Vallverdu (Miami) to push his undefeated streak to 13-straight matches to start the spring season. Rosa paired with Tobias Scheil and won a two doubles matches at the No. 3 spot. Their only setback came to No. 18 Rosenfeld/Subramanian in the No. 2 spot. The weekly award is Rosa's second of his career, he also earend the honor on Jan. 23, 2008.

Conference USA will name a male and female tennis Athlete of the Week throughout the regular season. The weekly accolades are selected by the media relations department and announced every Tuesday throughout the season.

Fahgen remains undefeated in singles after knocking off his second nationally-ranked opponent of the season. Both his wins last week came at No. 1 singles.
RICARDO SORIANO - Tulsa
Sr., Murcia, Spain
Soriano, ranked No. 44 nationally, helped Tulsa down No. 63 Michigan State and No. 22 Texas A&M. He was 2-0 at No. 2 singles and moved his record to 8-0 at the No. 2 singles spot with two more wins.
