IRVING, Texas - No. 16 and top-seeded Tulsa claimed the 2007 C-USA Men's Tennis Championship last Sunday with its 4-0 win over No. 29 and second-seeded Rice. The Golden Hurricane is the third C-USA school to win back-to-back league titles, joining Tulane and former member South Florida. TU's Arnau Brugues is ranked No. 6 in the latest FILA/ITA individual rankings, while Ben Harknett of Rice is also ranked in the Top 50 at No. 34.
Selection Monday
Both Tulsa programs received C-USA's automatic bid to the 2007 NCAA Tennis Championships by winning the league title. Other league teams will wait to find out of they recieved at-large bids during the NCAA Tennis Selection Show. The brackets will be announced on Tuesday, May 1, between 1:30 and 2:00 p.m. CT on ESPNews. The individual selections will be announced on Wednesday, May 2, at 4 p.m. ET on ncaasports.com.
All-Conference Announcements
Conference USA will announce the 2007 All-Conference USA Tennis awards beginning Tuesday, May 1, in conjunction with the NCAA bracket announcement.
