C-USA Announces Men's All-Conference Selections and Awards
May 1, 2007 Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa's men's tennis team (19-6) had a strong showing in the Conference USA post-season awards, placing four singles and a doubles team on the All-C-USA team as well as taking four of the six specialty awards. Arnau Brugues, ranked No. 7 in the nation, won his second-straight Conference USA Player of the Year award. He was also selected to the All-C-USA First Team as well as being named the Outstanding Singles Player of the Tournament for his performance at the 2007 C-USA Men's Tennis Championship. TU Director of Tennis Vince Westbrook also put on an encore performance by winning his second-straight C-USA Coach of the Year honor. The doubles duo of Diego Camacho and Ross Cunningham were selected as an all-conference doubles team, while also earning Outstanding Doubles Team of the Championship. The Soriano brothers each earned a spot on an all-conference team, with Ricardo garnering first team honors and Federico earning second team recognition. Will Gray rounded out the Tulsa players receiving honors with a selection to second team all-conference. Tulsa will next be in action when they travel to Baton Rouge, La., to face Vanderbilt in the first round of the NCAA Men's Tennis Championship.
