Tulsa Players Advance at All-American

TULSA, Okla. -The University of Tulsa men's tennis team had only two players in action Wednesday at the Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Tennis Championship at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on the TU campus. Junior Arnau Brugues and senior Richardo Soriano, the 51st ranked doubles pair in the ITA National Preseason Rankings, advanced to the main draw, by defeating David Gonzalez and Moritz Starke of Pacific by walkover. Soriano, also played in the third round of qualifying singles, falling to Hawaii's Sascha Heinemann, 6-2, 7-6(4). Tulsa will have two singles players and two doubles teams in action Thursday. In singles, senior Will Gray will face Chris Racz of Tennessee at 9:30 am, while # 3 ranked, Brugues will play Ohio State's Jusin Kronauge at 10:30 am. In doubles, # 40 ranked Andy Connelly and Ross Cunningham will play Florida's Tyler Hockwalt and Greg Oullette at 5:30 pm, while # 51 ranked, Brugues and Soriano will face Nicolas Delgado and Pedro Graber of Virginia Tech at 6:00 pm. Matches begin at 8 am Thursday. The first and second rounds of main draw singles will be in the morning followed by the first round of main draw doubles in the afternoon. Thursday is the first day of the main draw.
