C-USA WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
LARRISSA WILLIAMS, TULSA
6-3, Sophomore, Forward, Little Rock, Ark.
Williams led Tulsa to a 70-68 come-from-behind victory at SMU Saturday.
She scored 11 of her game-high 21 points in the opening half but tied the game at 68-all with a jumper in the paint with less than 20 seconds to play. Prior to that play, Williams assisted ReShawndra Jackson on a 3-point play that pulled TU within two points, 68-66, with 57 seconds remaining.
After tying the game, the Hurricane stole the in-bound pass to convert on a Teka Brooks layup that resulted in the winning basket.
Williams also hauled in seven blocks, shot .538 from the field (7-of-13) and .875 from the free throw line (7-of-8) in 33 minutes of action.
The sophomore ranks eighth in the league in scoring with 13.7 points per game and third in rebounds with 9.6 rpg. Among sophomores in C-USA she ranks second in both categories.
She also has registered 30 blocks, 25 assists and 16 steals in 19 games.
