IRVING, Texas - - After recording the fourth triple double in Conference USA women's basketball history, Houston's Tye Jackson has been named this week's C-USA Women's Basketball Player of the Week. Halfway through the league schedule, she has the Cougars in second-place in the C-USA standings at 7-1. Tye Jackson, Houston Jackson averaged almost a triple double over the weekend as Houston ran its winning streak to seven games and matched the best C-USA start in program history. The Cougars have achieved a 7-1 mark in C-USA play for the third time in school history. Jackson tallied the fourth triple-double in Conference USA and Cougar history with 11 points, a career-best 16 rebounds and 12 assists in an 80-76 overtime win at UAB. Against Memphis, she recorded 11 points, seven assists and six rebounds. Through eight league games, she has averaged 9.5 ppg, 7.0 rpg and 7.1 apg. She recently became the third player in school history to surpass 1,000-career points with 300 career assists.
