King, Boyd Named Women's Basketball Players of the Week
King led Cincinnati to victories over Charlotte and Saint Louis to earn Co-Player of the Week honors. This marks the second time King has been named Player of the Week this season. The 5-10 freshman poured in 22 points against Charlotte on Friday, including 4-of-7 from behind the arc. She also added five rebounds and four assists. King then scored 19 points at Saint Louis on Sunday, which included 11-of-11 from the charity stripe. Her effort from the free throw line ranks as the second-best effort in UC history and the fourth-best in Conference USA history. In the two games, King averaged 20.5 points on 60 percent shooting from the field and 90 percent from the free throw line.
Boyd was named Co-Player of the Week after leading Memphis to road wins over Tulane and Southern Miss this past weekend. She scored a career-high 20 points at Southern Miss, to go along with six rebounds. Boyd recorded just her second career double-double at Tulane with 14 points and 11 rebounds, seven of which were offensive boards. For the week, she totaled 34 points, 17 rebounds, three assists and three steals, while shooting 52 percent from the field.
