CHICAGO - DePaul senior forward Lenae Williams earned honorable mention All-America honors announced by the Associated Press. The sharpshooter has been ranked in the nation's top 10 in scoring and three-point field goals throughout the 2001-02 season. Williams and the Blue Demons open postseason play on Thursday night at
Michigan State in the first round of the WNIT.

She led Conference USA in scoring this season while becoming the only player in DePaul and league history with at least 90 three's in two seasons. She was named the league's Player of the Week twice this season while scoring at least 30 points in six different games. The Addison, Ill., native enters the WNIT ranked third in NCAA history with 327 career three-pointers and is just one of three players in DePaul history with at least 2,000 career points (Diana Vines - 2,504, Mark Aguirre -2,182 and Lenae Williams - 2,029).
The Associated Press selected 37 players to three teams and a honorable mention list. Williams is the third player in DePaul history to earn mention by the AP. Latasha Byears was named to the first team in 1995-96 and second team in 1994-95 while Kim Williams received third team honors in 1996-97.
