USF Wins Thriller In WNIT First Round; Defeat In-State Foe Florida 61-56

Anedra Gilmore hit a pair of free throws with 6.3
seconds left to seal South Florida's 61-56 win over Florida in the first
round of the WNIT Thursday night.
Gilmore finished with 19 points and five assists to help USF earn its first postseason victory in school history.
Jessica Dickson scored 12 points and Sharon Cambridge added 10 for the Bulls (21-10), who will face the winner of Friday's matchup between
Charlotte and Wake Forest.
Tashia Morehead, Tamia Williams and Briana Phillips each scored 11 for Florida (14-15), which has dropped 10 of its last 13 games.
South Florida snapped a 14-game losing streak to the Gators. The loss halted Florida coach Carolyn Peck's bid for career victory No. 100.
The Gators held their biggest advantage at 24-12 with seven minutes left in the first half, but the Bulls responded with a 12-2 run and cut the
deficit to 31-26 at the half.
Cambridge hit a short jumper with 5:54 remaining to give South Florida its first lead since early in the game and the Bulls went ahead for good
with 2:20 left on a layup by Gilmore.
