Two Conference USA players were named first-team University Division All-State by the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) as announced on April 6. Charlotte's junior guard Sakellie Daniels and senior guard Jennifer Jackson of East Carolina were both recognized for their 2004-05 performances.

The team consists of NCAA Division I student-athletes from North Carolina colleges and universities. The state’s sports information professionals selected the nominees, while the NCCSIA members voted for the all-state teams.

Daniels, who earned second-team All-Conference USA honors, played an integral role in helping the 49ers make a school-record third straight postseason appearance with a WNIT berth. She led the 49ers in scoring (15.1 ppg), rebounding (7.5 rpg), assists (153) and steals (76) this past season. Daniels recorded 26 double-figure scoring games, including a career-high 29 points in Charlotte’s win over cross-county rival Davidson. She became the 14th player in school history to score 1,000 career points when she tossed in 21 points in the 49ers C-USA Tournament game against league foe Houston. Daniels nearly had the program’s second ever triple-double on three different occasions and she finished the season with five double-doubles.

Jackson earned her third all-conference accolades this season with a second-team C-USA selection as the senior led her Pirate squad in scoring (16.5) and rebounds (6.3) per contest. She currently ranks seventh in C-USA in scoring, tied for eighth in three-point field goals made, ninth in free throw percentage, 14th in offensive rebounds and 15th in overall rebounding. The native of Farmville, Va., moved into fifth place this season on ECU's all-time scoring list with 1,478 career points. She also ranks second all-time in three-pointers made, second in free throw accuracy, fifth in field goal accuracy and eighth in scoring average.

Founded in 2002, NCCSIA is comprised of sports information professionals from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and independent institutions from the state of North Carolina. The purpose of the organization is to promote collegiate athletics at all schools.
