Tulane Places Two on Women's Basketball All-Louisiana Squad

Green Wave senior forward Lakethia Hampton and junior guard D'Aundra Henry were both named to the Louisiana Sports Writers Association All-Louisiana Women's Basketball Team, released on April 9.
John McDonogh High School product Hampton was a second team selection after leading Tulane in scoring, rebounding and field-goal percentage, averaging 16.5 points and 7.2 rebounds per game while shooting 49.8 percent from the field during her senior campaign.
This season, Hampton collected three double-doubles and reached double figures in 19 of 22 games in which she played. She became the 17th player in Tulane women's basketball history to score 1,000 points as she ended her Green Wave career ranked No. 9 on the school's all-time lists for rebounds with 610 and No. 10 for free throws made with 254.
In addition, she was named third-team All-Conference USA and was the C-USA Player of the Week on Jan. 3, after collecting her first double-double of the season against top-ranked LSU. Hampton was also named to the Tulane/DoubleTree Classic All-Tournament Team after averaging 22 points and 6. caroms in games against Stephen F. Austin and Pepperdine.
Henry, a native of Houma, La., received honorable mention after she led the Green Wave in assists and steals per game, averaging 3.96 and 2.77, respectively, and blocked a team-high 17 shots. The junior guard was the club's second-leading scorer and rebounder tallying 13.7 points and 5.0 rebounds a contest.
With 72 steals on the season, Henry moved into ninth-place on Tulane's all-time steals list with 169. She knocked down three game-winning shots for the Wave and was named the Tulane/DoubleTree Classic MVP. This season she swiped a career-high seven steals at Memphis and nearly collected two triple-doubles, coming one assist shy against Stephen F. Austin and two assists short against Southern Miss.
LSU's Seimone Augustus was named Player of the Year while teammate Sylvia Fowles earned Freshman of the Year honors and Pokey Chatman was named Coach of the Year. Juleen Smith of Grambling was the LSWA Newcomer of the Year.
