  • ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Members of the UCF women's basketball team spent their Saturday morning teaching basketball skills to elementary school kids as part of the annual UCF Sports Festival.

The event, which featured student-athletes from a variety of UCF sports, featured clinics to teach participants the finer points of various sports. Women's basketball players teamed with the school's men's basketball players and, together, the student-athletes helped kids from kindergarten through fifth grade learn and refine their skills in a number of areas, including shooting, rebounding, lay-ups and ball-handling.

Participants in the two-hour event received lunch and a goody bag. The annual event is sponsored by the UCF Alumni Association.

It marked the second community service in as many days for the Knights, who on Friday volunteered at the Big Wheel Deal charity basketball game in downtown Orlando as part of the Wheels for the World Charity.
