UTEP women's basketball assistant coach Ewa Laskowska has been invited to serve in the same capacity for the Venezuelan U-17 national team at the South American U-17 championship in Cuenca, Ecuador, from June 2-6.

Laskowska was asked to work with the team by Venezuelan Federation President Carmelo Cortez.

"I'm excited about the opportunity," Laskowska said. "It is a privilege to be invited to join the Venezuelan national team and to coach on the international level. I'm looking forward to the games."

UTEP women's basketball head coach Keitha Adams also shared Laskowska's excitement for the upcoming tournament.

"I'm thrilled for Coach Ewa to have this opportunity," Adams said. "She'll do a great job."
