East Carolina 70, Western Carolina 50
Ashley Clarke enjoyed her second-straight 20-point performance, netting 20 to compliment the 22 she scored against Charlotte on Friday, as East Carolina defeated Western Carolina, 70-59, Sunday at Minges Coliseum. Chareya Smith was the other ECU player to reach double-figures, setting a career high with 11 points. East Carolina (2-0) forced 20 Western Carolina turnovers and recorded 16 steals. Head coach Sharon Baldwin-Tener is now six victories away from becoming the winningest head coach in program history. She also tied Cathy Andruzzi for second-place as she now owns 105 wins at East Carolina.

#24 Middle Tennessee State 78, UCF 53
Junior Emma Cannon scored 19 points and had 18 rebounds against #24 Middle Tennessee State (1-0), but UCF (0-1) fell 78-53 in its season opener at the Murphy Center. Cannon had her 34th career double-double by halftime with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Cannon converted 10-of-11 free throws and had 12 of her 18 rebounds on the offensive glass.

Murray State 69, Memphis 59
Brittany Carter and LaToya Bullard scored 13 and 10 points, respectively, as Memphis dropped a 69-59 game to Murray State, 69-59, at Elma Roane Fieldhouse. Carter added 11 rebounds for her first career double-double.
