CONFERENCE USA WOMEN'S BASKETBALL SHOOTING STARS (Fri. Nov. 20)

· Keitha Adams became the winningest coach in program history as UTEP defeated Eastern Illinois, 84-80, in its second game of the 2009 Preseason WNIT at UALR's Jack Stephens Center Friday Evening. Adams moves past former Miner coach Sandra Rushing, and now boasts a record of 124-114 in her nine years at the helm of the program. UTEP (1-1) drilled a school-record-tying 14 three pointers, including nine during the opening 20 minutes.

· Jareica Hughes led UTEP to an 84-80 win over Eastern Illinois with 19 points. Dietra Caldwell (13 points), Fannie Goodwin (12 points) and Kayla Guidry (11 points) all joined Hughes in double figures.

· The UCF women's basketball team defeated Bethune-Cookman 80-46 Friday night in its home opener at the UCF Arena. Junior guard Marshay White (Rochester, N.Y.) led the Knights with a career-high 23 points as UCF won its ninth-straight home game.

· Three Tulane players posted double-figure scoring totals as senior guards Chassity Brown and Indira Kaljo tallied 13 and 12 points, respectively, and junior forward Brittany Lindsey was next with 11 but the Green Wave dropped a 63-52 decision to Liberty in the opening game of the Navy Classic Friday afternoon at Alumni Hall.
