Irving, Texas - Four University of Tulsa women golfers earned Conference USA honors, it was announced today by the league office. The Hurricane had one player each named to the first-, second- and third-teams and also had C-USA's Newcomer of the Year.

Tulsa's trio of seniors Michaela Cavener, Tara Goedeken and Leisl Hasbrouck were selected to the all-conference team, while junior transfer Woori Shin was named the C-USA Newcomer of the Year. The golfers led Tulsa to the 2008 Conference USA Championship earlier this week in El Paso, Texas, and its fourth tournament title this spring.

The first-team award for Cavener is the second in her career, and it marks the third time that she's earned all-conference accolades. Cavener was a first-team selection in 2006 and a second-team pick last year.

Cavener placed among the top-10 in six of 10 tournaments, while finishing among the top-20 at three more events. She finished in fourth-place at the C-USA Championships and had her best finish this season of second-place at the Samford Invitational.

A second-team honoree is Goedeken, who finished in 11th place at the C-USA Championships. She turned in seven top-20 performances this year with her best finish coming at the Samford Invitational in seventh place. Fellow senior Leisl Hasbrouck had her best tournament finish with a second-place performance at the C-USA Championships with a score of 226. She placed among the top-20 in three other events this year.

Shin, who is the 2008 C-USA Individual Champion, fired one of the championships two rounds of under par golf with a 71 in round two and carded a four-over-par 220 to claim medalist honors. Shin entered the C-USA Championship as the reigning C-USA Golfer of the Week and claimed the honor twice in 2007-08. She registered four top-10 finishes in six spring tournaments.
