Albuquerque, NM - The University of Tulsa women's golf team is making its 20th appearance at the NCAA Division I Championships this week, as the first 18 holes of the 72-hole tournament tees off Tuesday, May 20, at the par-72 University of New Mexico Championship Golf Course.

Owners of four national championships, including the 1980 and 1982 AIAW crowns and the NCAA titles in 1982 and 1988, the Golden Hurricane golfers return to the national finals this season after a two-year absence.

Twenty-four teams will be competing for the national title, as eight teams represent each of the East, Central and West Regions. Tulsa placed seventh at the West Regional nine days ago in Lincoln, California.

Tulsa enters the championship event with four tournament victories to its name this year, including the Fresno State Invitational, Samford Invitational, UALR Invitational and the Conference USA Championships.

The Hurricane is led by three-time all-Conference USA selection Michaela Cavener. The senior has placed among the top-20 in 10 of 11 tournaments this year for Tulsa. Fellow seniors Tara Goedeken and Leisl Hasbrouck also earned all-conference accolades.

Tulsa junior Woori Shin captured the Conference USA individual title and has placed among the top-20 in five of Tulsa's seven tournaments this spring after transferring from Auburn. Freshman Kelly Fuchik is the fifth member representing Tulsa's NCAA roster. The local product from Tulsa's Bishop Kelley High School placed among the top-15 in six of 11 tournaments this season.

Tulsa tees off at 1:00 pm (CT) on Tuesday on the 10th tee.
