DALLAS (SMU) - On the heels of her advancement in U.S. Women's Open qualifying, Kate Ackerson qualified for the U.S. Women's Pub Links on Tuesday. Ackerson carded a 71 at the River Ridge Golf Course in Sealy, Texas, to finish second and advance to the finals, which will be played at Kearney Hills Golf Links in Lexington, Ky., June 18-23.

"Kate has really stepped it up this year and has become a really good player," said SMU Head Coach Todd Selders.

Ackerson will join Laura Cross at the finals. Cross returned to competition at the qualifier at Thorntree Country Club in Desoto and won medalist honors with a 77.
