DALLAS - Four golfers with SMU ties have advanced to the 2007 U.S. Women's Amateur with strong qualifying efforts. Senior-to-be Lacey Jones, sophomore-to-be Sarah Dodson and alumnae Jennifer Ackerson and Kristina Rothengatter will each compete August 6-12 at Crooked Stick Golf Course in Carmel, Ind.

Jones and Rothengatter each qualified at the Missouri Bluff Golf Course in St. Charles, Mo. Rothengatter shot 71, while Jones carded a 72. Dodson earned her spot with a 77 at The Legends of Indiana Golf Course in Franklin, Ind. The Houstonian Golf Club in Richmond, Texas, saw the most SMU-linked competitors, as Jennifer Ackerson qualified with a 72, while junior-to-be Kate Ackerson (76), incoming freshmen Paige Martin (76) and Stephanie Hwang (85), and alumna Ashley Deatherage (87) missed the cut.

"It's great to see so many SMU players out playing amateur golf," said Head Coach Todd Selders. "I want to congratulate those who made it to the Amateur, but I appreciate how all of them represented the golf program and University".
