IRVING, Texas - Sophomore Abby Bools of East Carolina is the Women's Golfer of the Week after recording a final round six-under par 68 to claim her first collegiate win. Bools efforts helped her team to the Myrtle Beach Classic title. Her 68 was the third lowest 18-hole total in school history.

In her first tournament of the 2007-08 season, Bools posted her first collegiate win, fourth career top-10 and sixth career top-20 finish at the 2007 Myrtle Beach Classic with a two-under par 142 (74-68) on Tuesday. Bools, who was tied for 18th heading into final round action, recorded a six-under par 68 on the final day and defeated teammate Amber Littman and Georgia State's Iliska Verwey in a five-hole playoff. Bools, whose 68 was the third lowest 18-hole score in school history, guided East Carolina to the team title as the Pirates posted a 36-hole tournament score of 578 (two-over par). With the win, the Pirates have recorded at least one team tournament win in all eight years of the program's existence and have posted 11 total titles. The weekly honor is the second of Bools' career and first in 2007.
