IRVING, Texas - Six women's golf team's were in action last weekend, led by Memphis' 5th-place finish in the Johnnie Imes Invitational in Columbia, Mo. The Tigers bested their round two score by 12 strokes to move up one spot from Monday's leaderboard. UAB tied with Austin Peay and Drake for eighth place at the Lady Indian Classic, hosted by Arkansas State, with a two-round score of 637.

MICHAELA CAVENER - Tulsa
Sr., Ponca City, Okla. (Ponca City)
In an 18-team field at the Lady Tar Hell Invitational which included some of the nation's top teams, Cavener finished in a three-way tie for 5th place. The senior used rounds of 68-77-71 for an even-par 54-hole total of 216 at the par 72 UNC Finley Golf Course. Her fifth-place performance was her best of the season and came in a field of 93 participants. This is the fourth career weekly honor for the two-time All-Conference USA performer and her second nod this fall.

ABBY BOOLS - EAST CAROLINA
In her second tournament of the fall, Bools posted another Top 20 finish with ashare of 19th at the Tar Heel Invitational. She carded a six-over par 222 (74-76-72) to lead the Pirates. She ranked among the tournament leaders in birdies with eight and par-4 scoring with a +2.
JAMIE BRABB - UAB
Brabb shot rounds of 78 and 79 (154) to finish tied for 11th at the Lady Indian Classic. Her efforts helped lead the Blazers to an eighth place finish.

EAST CAROLINA East Carolina remained in the national collegiate golf rankings Monday afternoon garnering a No. 23 ranking by Golfweek... The Pirates, who finished 15th at the Tar Heel Invitational last week, dropped three spots in the weekly polls and are currently the highest ranked Conference USA team in the top 50 ahead of Tulsa (43) and UCF (47)... Abby Bools recorded her second top-20 finish of the season and seventh of her career carding an even round score of 72 to close out the Tar Heel Invitational... Bools finished tied for 19th with a 54-hole tournament score of 222 to pace her team... ECU will hit the links again on Monday, Oct. 15 when it participates in the UNCG/ Starmount Fall Classic, which will be played in Greensboro, N.C.
MARSHALL
Marshall ended play in the Wildcat Invitational Oct. 29-Oct. 1 finishing in 14th place... The team finished with a total of 988 in the 54-hole tournament... Rachel Halloran led the team with a 52nd place finish with a total of 240... Larie Lynch, who was coming off a first place finish at the Lady Herd Invitational, finished in a tie for 54th place... The Herd returns to the course Oct. 15-16 at the Richmond Spider Invitational in Midlothian, Va.
MEMPHIS
Memphis finished play at the University of Missouri's Johnie Imes Invitational golf tournament Tuesday afternoon in fifth place... The Tigers bested their round two score by 12 strokes to move up one spot from Monday's leaderboard... Alexa Porter (77-76-77) led the team throughout the tournament and finished in a two-way tie for eighth... Dawn-Marie Conaty (81-86-76) missed making the Top 20 by two strokes... The Tigers will travel to Greenville, S.C., to compete in Furman's Lady Paladin Invitational next weekend.
SMU
SMU's Kate Ackerson tied for second place at the 2007 Wolverine Invitational Sept. 29-30 after carding a 74-71-76 over the two-day event... Lacey Jones also claimed a Top 10 finish, shooting 74-71-81 to take seventh... As a team, SMU finished in a tie for sixth at 926 following a 320 on Sunday... The Mustangs are back in action Oct. 12-14 at the Mercedes Benz Championship in Knoxville, Tenn.
SOUTHERN MISS
Southern Miss shot its lowest round of the Jeannine McHaney/Audrey Morehead Invitational on Tuesday, by posting a 324 score to place 14th in the event... Rebecka Nilsson led the Lady Eagles with a 77 over her final 18 holes to place tied for 31st with a 239 total... Clara Viladomiu collected an 83 over her final round to place tied for 62 with a 251... The Lady Eagles return to action, Oct. 29-31, for the Gainesville Shootout II, to be held at the UF Golf Course.
TULSA
Tulsa finished final round action on Sunday at the Lady Tar Heel Invitational with a round of 303 to complete the tournament in 12th place among the 18-team field... Tulsa finished with a 54-hole total of 901 at the UNC Finley Golf Course... Senior Michaela Cavener finished in fifth place after a final round 1-under par 71 as she completed the tournament with an even-par 216 total... Fellow senior Tara Goedeken shot a final round 74 and finished with a 6-over par 222 total for 19th place... TU will play next at the American's Choice Mortgage Invitational, October 12-14, in August, Georgia.
UAB
UAB tied with Austin Peay and Drake for eighth place at the Lady Indian Classic, hosted by Arkansas State, with a two-round score of 637 on Tuesday... The Blazers shot a low round of 315 during round one, followed by a 322 in the second round at the Jonesboro Country Club... Jaime Brabb led UAB with rounds of 78 and 76 to tie for 11th place in the individual standings with a total of 154... Christina Wentworth and Lindsay Taylor tied for the 25th position by tallying a 157, including identical first-round scores of 77 and second-round totals of 80... The Blazers final competition of the 2007 fall season will be on Nov. 5-6 when they host the UAB Fall Beach Blast in Gulf Shores, Ala.
UCF
UCF finished in seventh place at the Wildcat Invitational Sept. 29-Oct. 1 posting a 313 in the final round... Jessy Tang was the top finisher for the Knights, tying for 18th with a three-round total of 227... Sara Hurwitch posted the lowest round of the day for the Knights, carding a 77 to finish in a tie for 28th overall... Stephanie Connelly and Tang both posted scores of 78 in the final round... Connelly ended up in a tie for 26th with a 54-hole score of 230... Liz Alger rounded out the scoring for UCF in the final round, carding an 80... The Knights return to action Oct. 12-14 when they travel to Knoxville, Tenn. to participate in the Mercedes Benz Championship.
UTEP
UTEP recorded a 13th-place showing at the Jeannine McHaney/Audrey Morehead Tournament on Tuesday in Lubbock, Texas... The Miners compiled a team score of 989 (344-327-318)... UTEP's Deborah Martinez finished 39th (85-78-78-241), Ana Pastor tied for 56th place (91-79-76-246), Rosana Gomez tied for 62nd place (85-84-82-251) and Elizabeth Sobczak tied for 67th place (86-87-82-255)... The Miner return to the course Oct. 15-17 in Las Cruces, N.M. at the Price's Give `Em Five Intercollegiate.
