         <description><![CDATA[A record 13 Conference USA soccer programs were honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) for their efforts in the classroom by earning the 2009 College Team Academic Award for the 2008-09 academic year. To be eligible for the award, programs must have a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher. A total of 573 collegiate soccer teams (142 men, 331 women) were awarded. Of that total, 98 schools had both their men's and women's programs recognized including C-USA's Marshall, Memphis and affiliate members Colorado College and South Carolina.]]></description>
